Greenville's Growing Automotive Industry
Careers / Economy
Written by Drew Nichols

Clemson University has partnered with industry leaders to create a world-class engineering and research facility focused on automotive technology.  The spillover effects of this ambitious project will include job creation for thousands of new and future residents of Greenville and the surrounding communities.

CU-ICAR's automotive research park is truly state of the art - visually and architecturally as well.  In fact, tennants are already building office and research facilities that can be seen from I-85 between Laurens Road and Woodruff Road.   The entire park is over 250 acres and is being developed using enviromentally responsible techniques in what was and will remain an established forest.

ICARPartners include BMW, The State of South Carolina, IBM, Michelin North America Inc., City of Greenville, Upstate Alliance, Carolina Crescent Coalition, SAE International, Timken, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, BellSouth, and The Furman Company.
